AARP Free Webinar to Explain Social Security Impact on Income Taxes

To teach the basics about how Social Security can impact individual income taxes

Feb. 29, 2012 - With the April 17 tax filing deadline just around the corner, AARP is providing tips for seniors looking to protect their financial assets through better retirement planning. It will provide a free online webinar focusing on how Social Security can impact your income tax bill.

"The recession took a huge toll on the nest eggs of many older Illinoisans," said Bob Gallo, AARP Illinois State Director. "AARP wants to help ensure the financial security of all generations by providing resources that focus on letting you keep more of the money you have earned over a lifetime of hard work."

AARP will be hosting a webinar, "Social Security and Taxes" on March 8, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. (CST). The webinar will teach the basics about how Social Security can impact individual income taxes. Only about one-third of individuals are required to pay taxes on their Social Security retirement benefits.

This free, informational webinar will also provide tips for minimizing income tax bills through retirement planning. The webinar is designed for individuals who are single as well as those who are married, divorced or widowed.

"It is so important to develop a financial plan for retirement, no matter what your age," added Gallo.

"Whether you are still in the workforce or retired and collecting Social Security, this webinar will provide helpful tips for ensuring lifetime financial security."

Financial Relief for Volkswagen Diesel Owners

You may be eligible for money damages if you owned or leased one of these VW, Porsche or Audi vehicles.

In the major scandal of 2015, Volkswagen cheated you and the world. They rigged diesel emission controls so you, nor regulators, would know how much pollution their cars were adding to our environment.

They were caught and have reserved $7.3 billion to help "make it right" with victims.

If you owned or leased one of these vehicles, contact us now.
