How Much Will You Get in Economic Stimulus Check – Use IRS Calculator

Are you eligible to receive a payment and how much can you expect

March 19, 2008 – The IRS has introduced an Online calculator to help you determine what how much you may receive – if any - as an economic stimulus payment from the government trying to fight a sinking economy by flooding the consumer market with cash.

The IRS will begin sending out 130 million payments on May 2. Although these payments will be automatic for most taxpayers, millions of senior citizens whose primary income is from Social Security must file a return for 2007 to be eligible for the payment.

The IRS on-line calculator is on IRS.gov.

The IRS says it is “to help taxpayers determine if they are eligible to receive an economic stimulus payment and if they are, how much they can expect.”

Anyone who has prepared a 2007 income tax return can use the calculator. It will ask taxpayers a series of questions, so they should have their 2007 tax returns handy. After answering the questions, the calculator will provide the projected dollar value of the payment.
