"I am impressed with Retirement Living TV's mission to serve America's seniors with programming that is intelligent and informational. I look forward to sharing my insights about our nation's top stories with the Daily Cafe audience," said Walter Cronkite.

For almost two decades he served as anchorman and managing editor for the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. He was America's eyewitness to the major stories of the twentieth century including the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King and Senator Robert Kennedy, the Vietnam War, the Apollo 11 Moon landing and the Watergate scandal.

Now he will share his unique perspective on today's events, focusing on issues at home and abroad such as politics, education, healthcare, foreign policy and the environment.

"Walter Cronkite is the quintessential news professional, and we all look forward to hearing his trusted perspective on current affairs," said Brad Knight, president of Retirement Living TV.

"Cronkite is an American icon. He set the standard for quality journalism in this country, and we are honored to have our nation's most trusted man join Retirement Living TV. His weekly commentary will cement our connection with our fast-growing audience," said Elliot Jacobson, vice president of programming and production, Retirement Living TV.

"We are further honored that anchor and managing editor of CBS Evening News, Katie Couric, will provide the introduction for the 'Cronkite Commentaries' on our broadcasts."

In the coming weeks 'Cronkite Commentaries' will look at the presidential primaries, for which Cronkite offers this observation -- "make no mistake, it's a game all right. I call it 'The Primary Hopscotch'".

He also declares a "growing polarization" and states that a "win at any price philosophy" is now in place. The upcoming political party conventions are the next to be addressed. "You can blame or credit the Democratic National Committee for the system we have today," says Cronkite. Other covered topics include environmental issues such as global warming and water consumption.

Cronkite joins an impressive roster of veteran journalists on RLTV, including John Palmer, Lea Thompson, Felicia Taylor and Bobbie Battista. Daily Cafe also includes news updates from NBC News.
