Seniors offered new dollar-a-day service to call doctors for medical advice

Seniors Wireless says it is affordable, contract-free wireless plan to offering seniors flexibility and convenience

doctor photo promoting tele-med by seniors wirelessMarch 24, 2015 – The number of senior citizens in the U.S. keeps expanding as older Americans continue to extend the average age of longevity. There is a price – we must consistently maintain our health. Now, a company – Seniors Wireless – wants to make it easier and affordable. Today they introduced a program that provides seniors age 55 and older unlimited, direct access to board-certified doctors via telephone or video, for any reason, anytime and anywhere for one dollar a day.

Seniors Wireless says it is the first combined mobile and telemedicine service in the U.S. specifically for the 55+ age group demographic. Described as a “flexible and affordable mobile service,”

The company also offers contract-free wireless plans that include a range of data, unlimited voice calling and text options. The announcement says they also offer “significantly lower rates than the major carriers.”

“Visits to the emergency room or to a doctor can be costly, time consuming, hard to book, and result in exposure to germs and infections that may mean time off of work or special events, less time with friends and family, and worry,” according to the company.

“For one dollar per day, teleMED Assist provides seniors unlimited access to board-certified doctors 365/24/7, giving them the peace-of-mind knowing that if help is needed, it is only a call away. With teleMED Assist, Seniors Wireless members can use any landline, mobile phone or wireless service to either speak or videoconference directly with qualified medical practitioners, allowing them to evaluate, refer and prescribe on the spot.”

"Seniors Wireless offers real peace-of-mind for seniors and their families. For anything from a suspected sprain while on vacation, or a fever after spending time with the grandkids, teleMED Assist is there to provide direct access to a board-certified doctor who can help, at the touch of a mobile phone," said Seniors Wireless president Richard Sfeir.

"My 97-year old father-in-law is a teleMED Assist customer, and I can vouch for the fact that the service has given great comfort to our family knowing he has unlimited access to a doctor at any time."

Besides the phone-based doctor access, teleMED Assist also offers apps for seniors such as medication reminders, medication refills and emergency alerting to family or emergency personnel for assistance.

The announcement says, “The app services will continue to expand and will be further enhanced by the introduction of Apple Watch and other wearables, which will make mHealth the new technology frontier.”

To access the service, Seniors Wireless members can click the teleMED Assist button on the Seniors Wireless app or call directly. An agent will respond and connect the caller to a certified medical doctor within two minutes, guaranteed. Members can request assistance as many times as they like and call duration is not limited. The cost is $1 per day, based on a 30-day subscription.

Seniors Wireless says it also eliminates the stress that many seniors feel when searching through all the complicated wireless plans full of hidden fees and services they'll never use or understand. The company says it provides” an easy to understand service” where the customer chooses either small, medium or large options, or an unlimited plan for $1 per day.

Seniors Wireless says its mobile plans are more affordable than the major carriers, easy to understand and, most importantly, they do not tie up customers in lengthy contracts.

"As the largest generation in U.S. history, baby boomers represent a significant group that deserves access to great value wireless plans along with immediate medical attention when and where they need it," said Seniors Wireless founder and CEO Zaccariah Swindells.

"We don't believe in contracts or commitments. The only commitment is from Seniors Wireless, to provide the best value wireless plans possible to our members with access to the latest technology."

To become a member, seniors can subscribe to teleMED Assist and a wireless plan independently or jointly from only a $1 per day.
