CARE Memory Band uses USB
connection to store medical data
Feb. 4, 2008 – The latest idea on helping senior
citizens keep their emergency medical information handy is the CARE
Memory Band, a wrist band device that uses USB flash memory technology.
The CARE Memory Band is designed for everyday wear
and medical emergencies, says the “medical solutions” company, GC
Publishers LLC, that is marketing the device.
It uses the USB computer connection to securely
upload user’s most recent medical and emergency contact information
utilizing “user-friendly” software. In the event of an emergency, an
EMT or other health care professional can insert the bracelet into any
laptop for instant record review.
To the benefit of patients and practitioners, the
CARE Memory Band speeds assessments, while reducing medical errors like
drug interactions and costs associated with diagnostic retests,
according to the company.
Promotion on the company Website says:
“The CARE Memory Band is a digital memory device
bracelet which stores a patient’s medical history, medical conditions,
prescriptions, allergies, etc.
"The band can be a critical component to saving the
lives of many who suffer from life-altering medical experiences, the
aged and more. The band comes with its own USB Port connection so that
paramedics or the emergency hospital staff can view the patient’s
medical history immediately. It is the only product in the marketplace
to allow patient-driven control by simply wearing it.”
The company says a major medical group has
purchased 30,000 CARE Memory Bands for distribution to its patient
population.
“The CARE Memory Band provides emergency personnel,
as well as caregivers, instant access to potential life saving
information. It offers peace of mind and a user-friendly system that can
carry multiple family members’ medical history,” said Marco Camacho
President of GC Publishers.
The Care Memory Band is priced at 19.99, which
includes the necessary e-manager software. Bands are available for
direct purchase on the Website at
www.carememoryband.com or call by calling 1-866-798-4531.
